CENTER PARTY MISSION STATEMENT

THE TWIN OBJECTIVES OF THE CENTER PARTY ARE TO: (A) END THE GRIDLOCK AND POLARIZATION INHERENT IN AMERICA’S TWO-PARTY SYSTEM; AND (B) GIVE VOICE TO THE VAST NUMBERS OF AMERICANS WHO OCCUPY THE POLITICAL AND ECONOMIC MIDDLE OF AMERICAN SOCIETY.

THE PARTY WILL SEEK TO ACCOMPLISH THOSE OBJECTIVES BY IDENTIFYING, SUPPORTING, ENDORSING AND ELECTING CANDIDATES FOR POLITICAL OFFICE, WHO ARE PERSONS OF GOOD WILL AND HIGH CHARACTER, AND WHO WILL:

(1) SUBORDINATE THEIR PERSONAL AND POLITICAL PHILOSOPHIES TO THE GOAL OF SOLVING PRACTICAL PROBLEMS FOR THE GREATER GOOD OF AMERICAN SOCIETY; AND

(2) WORK WITH OTHER ELECTED OFFICIALS OF ALL PARTIES AND PHILOSOPHIES TO PRAGMATICALLY SOLVE THE PROBLEMS OF AMERICAN SOCIETY; AND

(3) VOTE THEIR CONSCIENCES ON ALL MATTERS; AND

(4) BE UNENCUMBERED BY ANY CONTRADICTORY PHILOSOPHICAL OR POLITICAL COMMITMENTS, PLEDGES OR OTHER OBLIGATIONS, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.

TO ACCOMPLISH ITS MISSION, THE PARTY ITSELF WILL REFRAIN FROM TAKING POSITIONS ON SPECIFIC ISSUES, BUT RATHER WILL FOCUS ITS RESOURCES ON ELECTING CENTRIST CANDIDATES, WHO THEMSELVES WILL NECESSARILY TAKE POSITIONS ON SPECIFIC ISSUES.
